Wedding Wednesday: Alexandria & Jacob
This is a feature in the Wedding Wednesday series, where we periodically showcase couples who found their venue(s) on Wedding Spot. These real couples have recently been married and are happy to share their story and advice! Follow us to make sure you don’t miss out on any of these amazing venues!
“My favorite memory was seeing Alex walk down the aisle.” Jacob remembers watching Alex as she made her way towards him on the Mayor’s Balcony at San Francisco City Hall.
While City Hall is known for its intricate Beaux-Arts style architecture and is one of the most gorgeous backdrops for couples to host their ceremony, there’s no doubt that all eyes were on Alex as she walked toward her future husband. “She looked so beautiful and I’ll never forget that moment.”
They knew each other for over 10 years before getting engaged in 2016. Jacob had approached her with a silly joke about bonfires, which he hoped would spark a giggle. It ended up sparking a life-long friend and partner in crime!
Alex and Jacob’s goal for their wedding was to have an intimate and fun experience for everyone! They mixed the traditional setting of San Francisco City Hall with a unique reception at Arguello Mexican Restaurant in the Presidio.
Alex suggests that “if your family is okay with a non-traditional wedding then have a morning wedding and a lunch reception, then you can party through the rest of the day and night!” Hosting an intimate wedding at a non-traditional location is a great way to save on your budget, while also having a fun and memorable day with the people you're closest to.
Thank you, Alex and Jacob, for sharing your wedding and advice with us!
