Erin and her fiancé, Taylor, will be enjoying a romantic getaway to Thailand, complete with 5 nights at COMO Hotels & Resort’s luxurious Phuket and Bangkok locations, a paddle boarding excursion, romantic picnic on the beach, jungle adventure, private Thai cooking class, and private tours. Can you say #TakeMeToThailand??
We hope this gift will be a sweet add-on to their engagement and wedding! We caught up with Erin to get the scoop on her adorable engagement and her big day.
How did your fiancé propose?
My family enjoys vacationing in the Gulf Shores of Alabama and has for many years. My mother, brother, sister, and aunts/uncles were all planning a trip down this past summer. Taylor was unable to join us this year because he was working on the Fourth of July. As sad as I was, I knew that this was going to be a great weekend away with close family. On my flight down, we hit some bad storms and had a few unexpected layovers, but I made it in just a little later than expected.
The next day, my twin sister and I spent the morning lying by the pool and relaxing. It was perfect. Then she wanted to leave and get ready for dinner—at 2 pm! She said that we were taking my mom to a belated birthday dinner early. My mom laid the guilt trip on me, and after some procrastinating on my part we were all ready to go. Before we left my sister asked me if we could go on a quick walk to talk about some big career decisions she was about to make.
We arrived at the beach and I looked down to take my flip-flops off. When I looked up to finish my sentence, she had disappeared and Taylor was walking down the beach towards me. I was in total shock. He got down on one knee and popped the question right on the beach. The best part was when we went back to the house where my family had a barbecue ready and my favorite champagne on hand! It was perfect. He knew how much my family means to me and incorporated that into his proposal. He’s the best!
How would you describe your perfect wedding?
If I had to describe my perfect wedding in three words I would say: romantic, whimsical, and most importantly, FUN. We are planning to get married in the church I grew up in, followed by a reception at a historical hotel. I imagine elegant white flowers, crisp white linens, and purple undertones. The best ending in my mind would be a surprise 80s cover band at the end of the night!
What are you looking forward to the most?
Marrying my best friend, of course!
We wish Erin and Taylor a wonderful life together—congratulations!
